Repetitious “sign in !’ demands

Nice little program with many small, concomitant, irritations and annoyances. The occasional pop-up advertisement for other of the developer’s products is exasperating enough, but much worse is the intermittent request to sign in ! before using it — on a computer that has used it thousands of times — because it “was purchased on another computer.”

Is Apple popping that request up on my machine ? Or is the developer doing it to harvest my sign-on information ? What entity is seeing my information ? This is the only piece of App Store software that makes these requests and users need to know why they’re frequently asked for sign-on information.
